StaffTech Solutions has surveyed local Small &
Medium sized companies and asked, “What were the predominant issues
that arise on daily or monthly basis that needed to be addressed in
order to properly grow or maintain their current business?” After
reviewing the results and excluding issues that were industry
specific, a common tread of issues arose. They were in the
following order:
- Financial /Cash flow Issues
- Staffing/Human Resource Issues
- Technology issues – Maintaining current systems or the desire to feel confident that they are maximizing their technology to create the best operationally efficient environment.
If these issues were not expressed directly it
was expressed as a sub-issue of the above mentioned concerns. With
regards to our services some of the sub-issues were:
Professional Staffing Services
- Company employees were concerned about finding qualified employees for their positions.
- Companies in growth modes said that the hiring process consumes too much of their time.
- Turn-over due to a bad match was costing them money. Even more after reviewing the overall cost involved and the impact it had on moral.
- Fluctuating workflow caused either overworked employees or unnecessary personnel cost due to lack of core business related work.
E-Business Services
- Companies were not sure if their systems were secure from outside or internal harm.
- Owners wondered if there were better cost-effective solutions in the areas of data management and network solutions that would allow the companies to operate safely, more efficiently and with increased communication.
- They wondered about the cost-benefit and effectiveness of their websites was.
- Finding a consultant that has longevity in the industry and an ideal scope of services was always a hard task. Not to mention the trust issue when it comes to entrusting an outside person with their internal data
HR Solutions
- Complying with State and Federal
Regulation was always an issue.
- They wished they had a person with human
resource expertise at a moments notice for quick advice on
issues such as FMLA or Workmen’s Comp questions.
- Some companies were growing so fast they
worried that they would run into liability issues because they
did not have a compliant employee handbook with defined policy
and procedures protocol
- Simple Resignation/Termination questions
were issues that they wanted advice on but did not feel like
asking their attorney because of the hourly fee cost.
